Vargo
Dr. Vargo strongly believes in a patient-centered approach to dentistry. For him, his patients’ comfort and care are his main priorities, and he strives to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere while catering to the overall health of each individual. It is his goal to work in tandem with his patients to develop treatment plans that will help them maintain exceptional oral health for a lifetime. Before you meet him at your appointment, you can learn a little more about Dr. Vargo below. After completing his residency program in San Diego, Dr. Vargo, worked in the prestigious Houston Medical Center until he took over for Dr. Mark Peter in 2021.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Vargo received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry. He went on to complete a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System in San Antonio.
His extensive education has given him valuable experience in all aspects of general dentistry, ranging from basic fillings to full-mouth rehabilitation, periodontal surgery, dental implant placement, Invisalign®, cosmetic restorations, and more.
What Kind of Advanced Training Do You Have?
In 2019, Dr. Vargo completed the core curriculum at The Dawson Academy, a 160-hour continuing education continuum that focuses on comprehensive patient care. As a result of his dedication to life-long learning, he achieved Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. This award requires a dentist to have an extensive number of approved continuing education hours and successfully pass a comprehensive examination demonstrating competence in the application of accepted dental knowledge, techniques, and procedures. Currently, less than 6% of general dentists in the US and Canada hold this honor.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Away from the dental office, Dr. Vargo is very active in his church, and he primarily likes to spend his free time hanging out with family, golfing, fishing, traveling, and working out.
